The Undertaker Returns To Smackdown LIVE, Announces Exclusivity To The Brand
The Undertaker made his return to Smackdown LIVE during tonight’s 900th episode, marking his territory and warning the crew on Team Smackdown that they have to fear him if they lose to the RAW brand at Survivor Series. What’s the most understated is that the Deadman announced that he would be returning to active competition, and NOT just at Wrestlemania.
This is, of course, a major coup for Smackdown LIVE—once again proving that it is the show to watch every Tuesday. However, this sets in place the Road to Wrestlemania in a much more subtle way than most people are expecting. Besides Bray Wyatt, Shane McMahon and Randy Orton, The Undertaker has two guaranteed programs with Dean Ambrose and (be still my beating heart) AJ Styles. His idle threat to the losers of the 5v5 Elimination match on Sunday has direct implications that are probably going to reach far beyond next month’s TLC Pay Per View. Let’s say Dean Ambrose loses to AJ Styles at TLC, and Undertaker faces (and wins) the title from AJ at Royal Rumble. John Cena returns and wins the Royal Rumble, and we could finally have the big match we’ve all been waiting for—John Cena v The Undertaker…Title v Career. Sure, I’m getting ahead of myself, but the possibilities are ripe. I for one am glad that Taker isn’t stuck in part time feuds, and we can finally see him in a real program. The only question is, who’s next?
