Video Surfaces of Steelers Assistant Coach Joey Porter’s Arrest
The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed OLB coach Joey Porter on leave after details of the Pittsburgh Steelers OLB coach arrest were released, according to NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
TMZ obtained video of the arrest and Porter yelling at cops:
Pittsburgh Steelers assistant coach and former player Joey Porter was arrested last night outside a bar following an altercation with a police officer, the outside linebackers coach has been given five charges.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports Porter was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct before being released from Allegheny County Jail early this morning after posting a $25,000 bond.
His first court hearing is Jan. 19.
Police were called to the bar after a call from a restaurant said there was an “unruly customer who was in the process of assaulting the doorman.” The Steelers said they are “gathering information” and had “no further comment” in a statement. The league will likely begin an investigation to see if Porter violated the personal conduct policy.
The Steelers are coming off a 30-12 rout of the Miami Dolphins in the opening round of the NFL playoffs.
