Kick Game Proper: Saucony Grid 9000 “Sparring with Saucony Sneaks”
The much-hyped (and admittedly ridiculous) boxing match scheduled between Chris Brown and Soulja Boy later this year may have inspired Saucony to revive a 2016 collab that never saw the light of day.
For those that remember, Saucony joined with rapper Wale last April for a limited edition Grid 9000, originally called the “Penn Relays”. Unfortunately, the University of Pennsylvania dubbed the release due to a legal conflict regarding the design, so now Saucony is repurposing the shoe with a boxing theme and renaming it as “Sparring with Saucony Sneaks”. This version literally has no alterations from the original red, white, navy blue and gold colorway, including the premium suede upper that gives the silhouette its standout look.
Be sure to pick up the Saucony Grid 9000 “Sparring with Saucony Sneaks” — for real this time! — beginning tomorrow (January 7) at select Saucony retailers throughout Europe. Keep in mind though, these will be limited to 1,200 pairs.
