Manti Te’o Will Have Season-Ending Surgery After Suffering Achilles Tear
San Diego Chargers middle linebacker Manti Te’o tore his Achilles tendon during Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, the injury will require season-ending surgery, sources told ESPN on Monday. Te’o was projected to have a big 2016, but now the LB, who is in his final year of his rookie contract will enter free agency rehabbing. Te’o is trying to be optimistic about the injury saying “everything happens for a reason, I live by a quote that says, ‘God puts mountains in front of you to show other people that it can be moved.’ My faith is strong and I know that I will be all right.”
Te’o suffered the injury with 5:48 left in the first quarter while trying to cover Colts running back Frank Gore in the flat. Te’o went down on his own while planting to cover Gore.
There were many “too soon jokes” about Te’o getting tacked by his “girlfriend,” we all remember the catfish story.
