Jabrill Peppers Declares for NFL Draft
Michigan Wolverines do-it-all defender Jabrill Peppers announced he will enter the 2017 NFL draft Tuesday.
This comes after a season that saw Peppers receive Heisman consideration alongside Lamar Jackson, Deshaun Watson and other great college players. He told the Sports Illustrated‘s Pete Thamel “that it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.”
“It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I’m choosing between cementing my legacy as a college player and starting my pro legacy. It’s something you dream of when you were a kid. I was torn between the two.”
Peppers could literally do-everything, literally. In 2016, Peppers played both safety and linebacker, and also played offense at the running back and wide receiver positions. The New Jersey native was also a dangerous return man, scoring one punt return touchdown.
Peppers had 72 total tackles and four sacks on defense, 167 rushing yards on offense and one punt return touchdown.
