Aaron Hernandez Hires Lawyer who Represented Casey Anthony for His Defense Team

Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has hired Jose Baez, the lawyer who represented Casey Anthony when she was acquitted of murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter. The high-profile team will also include Harvard Law professor Ronald S. Sullivan Jr. and Alex Spiro – Spiro represented the Atlanta Hawks Thabo Sefolosha in his fight against the NYPD.

The team of lawyers will head Hernandez’s appeal of his 2015 double homicide. Hernandez was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after being convicted of killing Odin Lloyd in 2013. Hernandez’s previous team of attorneys was led by James Sultan who filed an appeal last month. In 2015, an application for an appeal was denied.
